This heartwarming new movie now streaming on Prime Video. Based on the book by Audrey Shulman. The friend dynamic is so beautiful and so real. I wish that I had a friendship that balances me out and is literally ride or die. Too soon? No but honestly I cried too much during this movie. Instead of being an typical boy, girl Rom-Com, it turns out to be a girlfriend one.

Instead of having one problem and one solution in this movie, there are many themes and conflicts. The realistic conflict of Jane, (Yara Shahidi) being honest with herself and her parents to decide what the career she wants, trying to be more extroverted, and of course dealing with her best friend dying and the stresses of being her caretaker.

I can honestly say this was a movie worth the watch and worth bawling over. The karaoke scene made me feel like I wish I was there to celebrate Corinne and just forget about all life’s stresses. Karaoke is one of the greatest activities to bring a group together. I loved the different types of cake flavors and how purposely they coincide with the bars they were visiting. Please tell me we all wanted to try those cakes, I mean c’mon they sound and look delicious.

The ending left such a bittersweetness. Not only did the makers of this movie dedicate it to the real life Corinne but it also made me think of how Jane really started living after her death and owes everything to her. Thank you for sharing your story, real life Jane. Also to all that are caretakers of someone with a disease/disorder a huge thank you and also take time for yourself. Respite services exist your person will also thank you for spending time on yourself. How can you help someone if you are not helping yourself first. Anyone got any heartwarming stories about friendships or even platonic relationships?
